Scholten Lohnunternehmen, based in Laar, Germany, has been active in contract work, agricultural transport, dredging, recycling, and construction since 1979. With around twenty permanent employees, the family business has grown into a well-established name in the region. Within agricultural contracting, they work on corn, grass, potato, and grain fields, among other things.
What distinguishes them? For fourteen years, they have been the only company in the region to offer deep spading.
And that is no luxury in this area, where a disturbing layer of clay, sometimes up to 120 cm deep, lies beneath a 30 to 35 cm layer of humus. “That layer was holding water,” explains the manager.
In dry summers, nothing grew, and when there was a lot of rain, the water didn't drain away. So our task is clear: break up that disturbing layer without turning the land upside down.
According to Scholten, deep spading is more efficient and effective than dredging or deep plowing.
Dredging is expensive—at least twice as expensive as deep spading. And with deep plowing, you turn the soil completely, which leads to more work passes, extra rutting, and ultimately another compacted layer. With the Imants deep spading machine, we mix in a targeted manner and the humus layer remains intact.
The results speak for themselves: "No mistakes, no half measures – we make sure that the disturbing layer is completely removed. It costs a bit, but the return for the customer is guaranteed."
Scholten Lohnunternehmen works with a 135 SX deep spader from Imants that can reach depths of up to 150 cm.
No other machine can do this so stably and robustly. And Imants' service is also top-notch – they are easy to reach and always think along with us.
