“We use an Imants 38WX300H with a trailed planting machine. That combination works perfectly. We drive on wide tires on unplowed ground and don't have to return to the plot after planting, except to spray and harvest. That saves labor and prevents structural damage to the soil,” says Dallinga.

According to him, the results are convincing, in both wet and dry years. “In wet conditions, the water drains away more quickly, and in dry periods, the ridges remain nicely moist because the soil is firmly compacted during planting. With this combination, my son can sometimes plant up to 14 hectares of potatoes per day. That says it all.”
